How to Track Your Etsy Sales (2026)

Updated August 2026 · 5 minute read

Tracking sales is how you learn which products carry your shop, whether this month beat last month, and which customers come back. Etsy gives you some of this, but not all. Here are four ways to track your sales, from free to fully automatic.

1. Etsy Stats (free, built in)

Under Shop Manager → Stats, Etsy shows visits, orders, revenue and conversion rate over a date range, plus your top listings and traffic sources.

Good: free, no setup, fine for a quick pulse on visits and conversion.
Limitations: it's built for traffic, not deep sales analysis. No easy month-over-month product comparison, no repeat-customer view, and you can't export the underlying numbers into your own format.

2. A spreadsheet you maintain

Export or copy your orders into Google Sheets or Excel and build your own pivot tables and charts.

Good: total flexibility, and it's yours forever.
Limitations: the maintenance is the problem. Every month you re-export, clean the columns, and update formulas. Most sellers start strong and quietly stop after a few months.

3. Accounting or bookkeeping software

Tools like QuickBooks or dedicated Etsy bookkeeping apps sync your orders and handle taxes and profit.

Good: proper books, tax-ready, profit after costs.
Limitations: monthly cost, a learning curve, and often more than a small shop needs just to answer "how are sales going?"

4. A browser sales dashboard

A browser extension can read the orders already on your Etsy page and turn them into a live dashboard — no manual spreadsheet work, no monthly accounting overhead.

This is what we build. OrderPort for Etsy™ shows revenue and order trends, this week versus last week, top products, best customers, repeat-buyer rate, and flags products that are rising, falling or haven't sold recently. Everything is computed locally in your browser, so your data never leaves your computer.

Which should you use?

For a quick daily glance, Etsy Stats is enough. For tax and profit, use bookkeeping software. For understanding your sales — what's growing, what's slipping, who your best customers are — a dashboard that stays current with a click saves the most time.
