How to Export Etsy Orders to CSV or Excel (2026 Guide)

Updated July 2026 · 5 minute read

Whether you're doing bookkeeping, building a customer list, or analyzing what actually sells, at some point you need your Etsy orders in a spreadsheet. There are three ways to get them there. Here's an honest look at each, including when the free built-in option is all you need.

Option 1: Etsy's built-in CSV download (free)

Etsy can generate order spreadsheets itself, and for basic monthly bookkeeping it works fine:

  1. Go to Shop Manager → Settings → Options
  2. Open the Download Data tab
  3. Choose the CSV type (Orders or Order Items), pick a month and year, and click Download CSV
Good: free, official, reliable for archiving one month at a time.
Limitations: one month per download (a year of data means 12 files to merge), no buyer email addresses, fixed columns you can't choose, and the raw column names need cleanup before analysis.

Option 2: Copy-paste by hand

For a handful of orders, selecting the data on your Orders page and pasting it into a spreadsheet works. Beyond ten orders it becomes error-prone and painful — misaligned columns, missed rows, and an hour gone before you notice.

Good: free, no tools needed, fine for 5-10 orders.
Limitations: slow, error-prone, and soul-crushing at any real volume.

Option 3: One-click export with a browser extension

Browser extensions read the order data already visible on your Orders page and turn it into a clean file. This is the fastest route when you export regularly, need buyer emails, or want to choose your columns.

We build OrderPort for Etsy™, so judge our bias accordingly, but these are the design choices that set it apart:

Which option should you pick?

If you export once a month for taxes and don't need emails or custom columns, Etsy's built-in download is enough — use it, it's free. If you export weekly, build customer lists, or analyze sales across months, a one-click tool pays for itself in the first session.
